A Green Kind of Morning

I have a secret for radiant skin, shiny hair, a happy stomach, and an energized you.

It’s not coffee, definitely not sugar, and yes, you can also forget about it containing any refined carbohydrates or unhealthy fats.

It’s green, it’s mean, and it will keep you lean! So what is it? Spinach of course.

Spinach may not exactly come to mind when you think of breakfast, and I don’t blame you. However, sneaking a couple cups of the mighty green into your morning routine can actually work wonders for your digestion and your energy levels throughout the day. A couple cups sounds like an insane amount, but masked with delicious natural fruit flavors, the only thing that will give away the ingredients in this power smoothie will be the bright green color.

I think we’ve all heard enough times that the average Canadian/American doesn’t consume the recommended daily dose of vegetables. Maybe it’s time we kick this statistic in the butt and get a head start with this great tasting trick to GET GREEN!


Secret Green Tropical Smoothie

INGREDIENTStropical banana protein spinach smoothie

  • 1/2 frozen banana
  • 1/2 scoop vanilla whey protein powder (or protein powder of your choice)
  • 1/2 cup natural fruit juice (such as mango or pineapple)
  • 2 cups baby spinach
  • ice

Blend first 4 ingredients. Once no spinach pieces remain, add ice and blend until smooth. Enjoy!!
